Plum City was settled in 1857 by French and American Indian fur traders, and laid out and platted in the same year by Frank Moser and Stephen K. Gates. The name "Plum City" was inspired by the abundance of plum trees that lined Plum Creek and the surrounding valleys.
Village News
The Village of Plum City is requesting bids for snow removal and hauling away of snow from the Village roads for the 2026-2027 winter season.
Please include with your bid: hourly rate for snow removal and hauling, contact person and current liability and workman’s compensation insurance. Bid opening will take place at the next Board meeting on Monday, November 2, 2026 at 6:00pm. The Village Board reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids.

The siren at the Public Safety Building is still out of order due to a lightening strike. This is currently being worked on and will take some time to be back up and running.
