Plum City was settled in 1857 by French and American Indian fur traders, and laid out and platted in the same year by Frank Moser and Stephen K. Gates. The name "Plum City" was inspired by the abundance of plum trees that lined Plum Creek and the surrounding valleys.
Village News
The next Village Board Meeting will take place at a new location, the recently renamed "Community Center", which is upstairs from the Village Office. The September meeting will take place a week late due to Labor Day weekend, Monday, September 14, 2026 at 6:00pm. Agendas are posted at the bulletin board outside of the office, at the Post Office and at Pillar Bank.

The siren at the Public Safety Building is still out of order due to a lightening strike. This is currently being worked on and will take some time to be back up and running.
