Plum City was settled in 1857 by French and American Indian fur traders, and laid out and platted in the same year by Frank Moser and Stephen K. Gates. The name "Plum City" was inspired by the abundance of plum trees that lined Plum Creek and the surrounding valleys.
The Village of Plum City is accepting proposals for the Village Assessor. Please submit proposal including references and total annual compensation. The last revaluation was completed in 2024. Services are to be provided beginning January 1, 2026 through December 31, 2026. Proposals should be in by October 1, 2025 and will be reviewed at the October board meeting.
